and were can I find them? I tried both west marine and overton’s but since I don’t know what they’re called, I can’t search for them. they’re the mounts that hold the spring to the boat in the old cable steering systems. these ones I have are 1 3/38 center to center but I need some that are 1 inch center to center. I don’t want to drill any holes in my boat. 😥

      please help!!!!

strap tie downs if memory serves correct. Went through the same thing as you last fall when I was looking for them! Use Ebay. If you buy retail, stainless steel ones are VERY expensive (as in, like $4 each!)

I thought those were steering cable loops/guides, not spring retainers?

Try this link on ebay. I think I bought them from this guy last year. Cheapest option I could find anywhere.

Sitting have my coffee and too lazy to check; but I seem to remember they were called "pad eyes." Does that sound right to anybody?

                Edit: Yup, it’s "pad eye."

From the Attwood Marine Catalog. Reckon you can stretch the 15/16" to 1"?

Frank, any dealer will have these as well. We have a ton of them in stock for anchoring Bimini tops.

Yeah, I sort of assumed that would be true. Is the 1" hole spacing a problem for you?

                        I checked my unneeded ones – 1 3/8".
