I am working on a motor with the sheave plate showing "Outboard Motor Corp" rather than Johnson, Evinrude or Elto…I’d like to get the correct decal for it but nobody shows one listed…what did it have? I believe it’s a 34′ 3 horse…Anybody got a photo?
January 5, 2016 at 5:19 pm #29679what is the model number of the engine? I may have a picture. For decals try Dixie Hamack at djhamack@gmail.com She designs and makes vinyl decals. She is part of our local AOMCI club.

January 5, 2016 at 6:34 pm #29682Is it a single or twin ? Really need the serial number from the plate or a picture.
January 6, 2016 at 11:51 pm #29721]Not sure how to post a picture from my I pad but it’s a twin…maybe 3 or 4 hp with a funky carb/plunger setup…rotary valve motor I am told. If you give me your email address I can send a picture directly….there doesn’t seem to be an I.D. tag but just one with a serial number…is that acceptable?
January 8, 2016 at 1:12 am #29781On OMC outboards, up to 1933 the first three numbers of the serial number are the model number. From 1934 through the 1940s, it was the first four numbers. The rotary valve twins ran at a higher RPM and developed around 5 horse power. The 1934 model 4022 Lighten developed 5.1 horse power at 3750 RPM. x The check valve model developed 4 horses at 3250 RPM.

January 9, 2016 at 12:37 am #29850Garry & friends…Thanks for your help. The serial number of my little motor is 4420842…can you tell me what it is and what the decal should look like? I checked Hunn’s book and 4420842 doesn’t come up. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. The rope sheave says "OUTBOARD MOTOR CORPORATION"" ….should it have an Evinrude decal or maybe Elto? American decal has no listing for an outboard motor company motor….I’m puzzled….Jerry 😳

"442" is a 1933 Lightwin 5.1HP
January 10, 2016 at 10:01 pm #29960So…does that deserve an Evinrude decal?
January 11, 2016 at 3:40 am #29973According to the model list in the 1946 Evinrude service manual, a model 442 is a 1933 Evinrude 5.1HP Lightwin.
