I haven’t found out which Mercury outboard this fits on.
May 12, 2025 at 7:38 am #296364I’m out of town or I’d look it up in my copy of Arnold Cohn’s book. . His info. was from Michigan Wheel catalogs 1946 to 1969.
I can check tomorrow and let you know if it’s in there. I assume you have looked through the Michigan Wheel catalogues themselves. Oddly; various propellers do not appear in their own catalogues.
Michigan Wheel catalogues are in the Inner Sanctum.

May 12, 2025 at 10:46 am #296368Daytona, K40, K41,K43 K44 are all 1947 to ’53 Mercury 10hp propellers. Some are brass and some are aluminum. All are in the 7 1/2″ x 8, 9, 0r 10″ pitch. Yours is probably in that mix somewhere. Hope this helps!

get’em wet…..don’t let’m set!
May 12, 2025 at 2:07 pm #296370this eBay auction for a K42 clearly shows the part number K42 stamped on it. I contacted customer service at Michigan Wheel, and K42 is not listed in their obsolete inventory. https://www.ebay.com/itm/267174955850
May 12, 2025 at 11:50 pm #296386K42 is 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 same as the K40 for KE-7 1947-50 & WG-7 1950-53. My answer man’s memory thinks the KE-7 has a shear pin propeller shaft and the KF-7 and KG-7 have the spline shaft.
May 13, 2025 at 10:17 am #296389That e-bay listing looked good until I see the $34.50 for shipping. I have no record of a K-42 in the resource I have available.

May 14, 2025 at 3:20 pm #2964299/16″ bore would fit KE4, Mark 7 and KE7. A 5/8″ bore would fit KG7
and KG4. KF7 had toothed clutch so
both prop shaft and prop have spline and notches…can be converted by changing prop and shaft to use shear pin,
K40 and K42 may be same diameter and pitch with different blade
area or profile. Owners also
bored out or sleeved to use on
unintended motors. I have a K42
that had been drilled out to 5/8″ I had bored and sleeved back to
original 9/16″. I believe Michigan Wheel probably knew best
because they tested and suggested
boat and motor applications.
Mercury went much further, testing props, boats and Mercury
outboards and issued Boat House
Bulletins so dealers could sell
proven combinations.
my much overprice 2 cents worth,
