What is a classic ?

Can anyone tell me what the cutoff is for a classic. Twenty years ago I considered the 50’s classic. Ten years ago I considered the 60’s classics. Should I now consider the 70’s classics. What rules do most clubs use ?

We consider a "classic" as being over 30 years old – but newer than 1950 . . . 😎
