Hello, I come across this sale and I don’t have much knowledge about Antique Outboard as your guys. But I like the design of these Johnson with aluminum hood. I would like to pick up two of them but the seller is not interested in selling individual unit. Six of them lists for Usd 600 but now drop down to Usd $550 for all of them with all the gas tanks. It is too many for me the buy all of them. What do you think? Also a small bin with parts.

June 1, 2023 at 9:17 am #276640If you like tinkering with old outboards, it’s a good deal.
The pressure tanks go for $40 to $50 most of the time
if they’re solid.
If you’re looking to make a quick buck reselling them,
you may be in the wrong hobby, lol.Prepare to be boarded!
June 1, 2023 at 9:34 am #276650I am not interested in making $$$. I am collecting them! but the problem is there are too many of them so I don’t have room to store it or buying a new bigger house with bigger garage to keep them! LOL.
June 1, 2023 at 12:19 pm #276659I have come across deals like this before. The owner just wants to be rid of everything and at once. If all the motors are free and not froze up and all the tanks are clean inside offer 450 – 475 usd. Keep what you want and put the rest on Craigslist as tank and motor combos at 75.00 each. Keep the parts bin for your self.
June 1, 2023 at 12:26 pm #276660I think you should buy them. The price is fair.
June 1, 2023 at 1:08 pm #276661I have other problem is how to hide it from the wife??? When I started I had a couples outboards but When I found AOMC site, I got hooked to the OMC (1960-1980 year range) my collection number keeps increasing to 16 outboards now. LOL. Could I claim your site for my addiction?
June 1, 2023 at 2:58 pm #276662Years ago, I told myself no more than ten motors. Now over 50, had to get creative with storage.
If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.
June 1, 2023 at 3:01 pm #276663I can tell you what not to do: don’t wrap them up in a blanket and store them under the nuptial bed — It’s definitely a relationship killer. I have 130 motors — think about having 130 individual conversations about them.
Consider finding a partner — someone to fray the purchase price and the inventory.

My approach would be to tell him the
motors I’m interested in, what I’ll pay,
and leave my number. I’d remind him that
motors aren’t often purchased as a lot and
by reducing the size of the lot it should
increase his chances of selling the rest.
TubsA "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
June 1, 2023 at 7:32 pm #276671Buy them. The price is fair and I will pay more than 50 bucks for those 4 gallon tanks if you want to part with them.
