I am looking to replace the cylinder head gasket on my 1960 Evinrude Sportwin 10 HP, code 10020.  I have downloaded a copy of the service manual, but it doesn’t seem to have the part numbers included.  I’ve been told that parts are available to repair this engine, and I’ve found carb rebuild, impeller rebuild, fuel pump rebuild kits and thermostat, but no cylinder head gasket has popped up.  Anyone know where I can get one?  Thanks, Mark  P.S. Maybe there is a whole thread on this, sorry but I don’t know how to search for topics on this website.  I also wanted to inquire about best ideas to repair the dreaded broken shift lever, pictures of mine will be attached, hopefully.

Usually marineengine.com can help on motors that new.

Once you have the part number you can either buy from them or shop around for a better deal.

seakaye 12, Thank you much for your help!  I had to laugh when you said “on motors that new!”  Any of the sites that popped up with any evinrude parts at all started at 1968.  Now I’m going to start a search for a handle fix; I read that unbroken ones are rare and expensive; and any original part is probably going to break soon.  Um, do you know if those were made out of aluminum (which could be welded), or are they magnesium (which cannot without special equipment and shielding gas!).  Thanks, again

There are various ways to repair those shift levers but there’s a new one on ebay for $20 with shipping. #278025
