      I found this under the mag plate on my ’22 Evinrude single. It was loose on top of the crank case hub.

        Its a stop for the magneto. You set it so
        you don’t advance the timing too far.

        A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
