      I responded to an ad (haven’t heard back yet)for a newer Johnson 9.9 parts motor. Hard to read the model # or year on the crummy photo of the tag.

      What year did Johnson go to 4 strokes?
      I have three 9.9/15 and wonder what years range of motors have parts Like the lower unit,tiller handle or parts in general would fit on a 1989 9.9 or 15?

        I believe the first year for the 9.9/15hp four stroke was 1996, these engines have virtually no pieces that will fit on your engine.
        The engine years with the most interchangeable pieces that will fit your engine are: 1986-1992.
