Figures. There are three years possible for my motor/boat combo and every single year is a one-off. Blah.

Thanks guys, I’ll keep looking around.
While I’m doing that, anyone have a parts numbers for the junction box for a ’57? One of the few that they don’t have on the website

Can’t resist – Would this be 1956? The center emblem is loose.

I’m pretty sure that one is 1957. I believe the ’57 medallion had vertical lines and the ’58 had horizontal lines. The ’56 motors had the Sea Horse outline on them like the earlier green motors. If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me.

1956 took a very small plate that looked like the letter D with the flat side pointing upward. About 3" wide and only two push buttons, no medallion.

….and the small 56 plate also said "push choke to stop".

Note that the medallion plate was discontinued for 1960 when the automatic choke was introduced, so it only had a three year run.

1956 did not have the medallion or ammeter hole because the generator kit had not been offered yet.

The Electric starter/generators of the 1930s & ’40s were 12 volt, The first modern starters of the 1950s were 6 volt through 1956. The 12 volt system offered in 1957 had an optional generator which only put out ten amps and didn’t start generating until 1,700 RPM. The Motorola alternator offered on the deluxe V-4s could output 35 amps, and would charge at an idle. . . 😀

That one yours, if so would you be willing to sell it? As mentioned, I do need on that says "Push To Start" instead of "Turn To Start"

Mr. Asa, I am also planning to set up electric start (on a 1956 Johnson 30 HP ) so will keep the plate for now. Maybe another member has an extra.
