I am working on a 1973 Evinrude 4306 , four horse, outboard and would like to know where to get the gasket/ weatherstrip that goes under the fiberglass motor cover. [part # 206144] or something that would work in its stead. I looked at Mc-master but they will only sell in 25 foot lengths, I need about two. I am not sure what they have would be the right size and shape. Any ideas /pointers would be appreciated . Thanks

some use fuel hose and split it lenght wise then glue it on with a strong adhesive like GOOP

January 16, 2021 at 11:04 am #227884As Crosbyman suggests….consider trying fuel line split lengthwise. I just did a 10HP Sportwin and used 3/16″ ID fuel line…..took a razor blade and cut it….and carefully pushed it on the lip. Worked VERY well. Certainly not “factry” but it sure serves it’s purpose in keeping the cowling from rattling around. A cheap fix until something better comes along?

Long live American manufacturing!
