I was thinking about trying waterslide type decals on my next project, but I am having trouble finding a supplier . American Outboard Motors & Salvage seems to be closed. I e-mailed , and called them, but no response. Does any know of another supplier of this type of decals? Thanks Happy Holidays

December 9, 2020 at 6:57 pm #224772I have done quite a search, and made a few inquiries , all I am finding are vinyl decals no waterslides . Of corse I am a new to me computer, so there is a bit of mayhem . I thought possibly someone here has a merchant they deal with, as I will also need some coaching.

December 11, 2020 at 3:26 pm #224959Check out nymarine.ca – his decals are not the old water slide type but vinyl water transfer. I’ve had good luck with them.
December 11, 2020 at 3:30 pm #224960It took about a week for American Outboard Motors & Salvage to return an email from me. After I spoke with them they said they were swamped and behind. If you are not in a hurry you may want to wait and get what you want. They are good to work with.
December 11, 2020 at 6:45 pm #224978Ok,, I guess I will have to wait on American Outboard Motors. I have e-mailed and called them , the call rang twice then it hung up. I would really like to try waterslides, I have used vinyl in the past and the results look good, but it seems the waterslide type would be as close to original as I might get. And learning how to get good results with them would be a plus. Thanks for the replies.
December 13, 2020 at 10:30 pm #225180If you really want to try something new, you can make your own. Google it and you’ll find some instructions out there.
KirkDecember 14, 2020 at 8:47 am #225196Yea, I did that , involves getting a color laser-jet printer to do it right. Then “find” the artwork , $$$$ . I am hoping , although its not looking too promising, that I can find someone who sells what I am looking for. I am working on several winter projects. Thanks for the thought.
December 14, 2020 at 11:09 am #225201I looked at doing this to make decals for my ’52 Evinrude and ’40 Sea King. Granted, they were simple decals and I was able to create them using word processing software. Places are around that offer printing services (UPS and others) Not sure what that cost would be as I didn’t pursue it that far. Out of curiosity, what motor are you working on?
