there does seem to be a groove visible in the last pic i posted above. Is that the groove you’re talking about or is it lower, behind the existing seal?
On these QD and FD cranks, you can see the sharp groove on the right to retain the clip.
Not like this Big Twin crank designed for a lip seal.
