Windsor CT Meet Photo

A few of us decided to take a stroll south of the boat launch, about 4 miles south, into hartford and I grabbed this pic. In order:

My vessel – 1971′ starcraft 14′, with a ’67 Johnson 20hp (20-22mph)
Dave (?) – Flatbottom Jon boat with ’77 15hp Evinrude (18mph)
Ken A. – 12′ aluminum with son, ’57 10hp Johnson (went a solid 16mph)
Tom C. – 10′ "Grummano 2" with ’64 (?) 5.5 Evinrude (went 13-14MPH)

SHOUT OUT to Fleetwin and his ’58 10hp Evinrude (beaut) in his 12′ aluminum – went a solid 17-18mph!

If you haven’t been out to a meet, or aren’t a member of the AOMCI, this is what’s it’s all about. Pretty cool seeing a fleet of old vessels and classic motors running like ‘back in the day!’

Thanks for the pic. It was good to get out on the water with friends! BTW it’s a ’62 Fisherman. (and we confirmed that it does not run very well with Avgas!)

I had to learn the same lesson a few years ago with my Fleetwin, wouldn’t have believed until I swapped tanks at least ten times.

Yes, its late in the year but will hopefully still be acceptable weather conditions.
