      Hello All,

Seeing these are old outboards on marketplace and want to get them for winter projects.

The evinrude fastwin for $50 but the owner could not provide the name tag ID so it looks like 195?

The other 3 for $100 but they are too old to get the parts.

Likely to get the Evinrude to work on this winter. Any advices will help!

Evin, that Evinrude is a 1953 or 54  15 hp.   Good running motors and parts are available.   Those three Johnsons might have enough parts to make one good one if you can buy them right.   All are easy to work on with every day tools.   It does take some diligent cleaning and some gasket making ability.   Worst case is the motor being stuck.   That is the first thing to check before buying.  Stuck motors usually mean rusty bearings and stuck rings.  Not so much fun with that problem.

For $35, you can always harvest parts worth much more, if they’re not restorable.

There were several Johnson motors of this type on the “free pile” at Tomahawk this year and last year that no one wanted.
