I picked up a 10 Chrysler (I know. But, I like them) Autoelectric and the PO had disconnected the wires to the starter/generator. Anyone have a diagram that might help me sort things out?

I probably do, but need the model number or year or something to know which one.

          Thanks Frank. It’s a 104HC. I think that’s a 1975.

Page A-38 of Seloc’s Chrysler Service manual ? – It looks like the only one with a starter/generator.
I am still locked out of my Walagata.com account so I can’t post a picture –

Got everything wired up this evening. Only getting a click and hum from the starter. Maybe that’s why the PO had all the wires loose. Motor isn’t locked up, turns pretty easily by hand. Maybe I can figure it out.

I got everything apart again, tested the coils and cleaned the points. It has spark now so I think I will at least be able to pull start it if I can find all the parts it needs. It is missing the bolt that goes through the starter/generator and into the top of the crank. (maybe more) I have been looking for a parts list on this motor but no luck on boats.net or marineengine.

I have an official Chrysler publication (25 pp) titled ‘Trouble Shooting @ Repair Procedures – Electrical System for 9.9 Autoelectric’ published 1968.

Seems to be more thorough than most. It does not have a parts list, however, those seem hard to find..

Let me know if you’re interested, available cheap.

As to checking your starter, the first thing I’d try is to get a jumper and connect the negative terminal to a good spot on the block and try again. Sometimes the ground cable may not be up to snuff.
If that doesn’t help, unhook the cable from the solenoid to the starter, and jump that directly to the battery. If it turns now, you have a puny solenoid.
If neither of these marvelous remedies has an effect, you have a problem with the starter motor itself, and that’s well above my pay grade..
