I will try that. Thanks. I have it in pieces now. Hopefully there won’t be much wrong with it. It looks to be in excellent shape but I am seriously electrically challenged.

Does anyone have the part number for the bolt in the the top of the crankshaft?

Not sure there’s anything exotic about that bolt, find one that fits and eyeball the length. Diagram shows a flat washer too. Tighten to 20-25 ft/lbs.

I am not sure. The inside of the starter is threaded as is the top of the crank shaft but the sizes of the holes are different. I have bought a couple bolts to try but was put off by the threads inside starter.

I found a Chrysler parts catalog on eBay. Maybe that will give me a few clues as to the parts that are missing.

The threads inside the armature is so you can fit a bigger bolt (or special tool) into it to act like a puller. But I guess yours came off OK without it ? The manual I have just makes a casual reference to a hex bolt and washer that holds the armature to the crankshaft.

Groovy. That’s good news! Yes, it was all loose when I bought it. I just lifted the flywheel off too. The PO disassembled it at some point. The points were corroded and it had no fire. I guess they gave up before trying to get spark.
