Ok! I finally came across a wizard fuel fitting and now i need to refurb it (oh, and I should probably find a wizard too, huh?).
Does it look complete from the pictures? I fished one o-ring out but it cracked. I assume it has atrophied over the years. Anybody know the correct size o-ring that’s required? Are both rings the same size?If Mercury made the wizard line, why is the wizard pressure fitting sooooo different from the Mercury pressure fitting? Just cuz Carl was a dyed in the wool slave to propriety?
Thanks for any help!
February 24, 2017 at 11:47 pm #53531Hey, there had to be a difference somewhere, or it would be a Merc.
February 25, 2017 at 3:22 am #53539Frank, do you know if these come apart much like the OMC ones? I’m tempted to try and use your tool on it.
ScottFebruary 25, 2017 at 7:16 am #53540My wild guess is that they probably will come apart, but I have no actual knowledge of that, or whether or not it will fit the tool. From the picture, it appears the inserts may be pretty well corroded in. Meaning they might be tough to get out. All guesswork.

Are the innerdz the same diameter as an omc? I have one of those too that I was wanting to redo. But I don’t have an OMC fitting for reference. Brian.
February 25, 2017 at 5:57 pm #53550Just out of curiosity, how do you know it is a Wizard fuel fitting? Just in case I come across one!
February 26, 2017 at 1:22 am #53562they are a little bigger than OMC’s

February 26, 2017 at 5:26 am #53565That really looks like an omc fitting. I would expect/assume that it is assembled the same way.
I was just reading an article in an old copy of Antique Outboarder on the WA25 and how they installed thicker sleeves into the block to reduce hp and displacement. Carl wanted to sell motors anyway he could, but have the mercury’s the best.
Did they use this fitting for all the wizards? I have a WA25 that I am piecing together out of parts, and though that a Mark 30 fuel fitting might be correct.
February 26, 2017 at 11:45 am #53568WA-25 uses the same style connector that the MK30 does. The fitting that is the topic of this post is for a pressure tank. WA-25’s and MK30’s both used fuel pumps (plural) and use identical fittings and hoses.
Hope this helps.
Best,
