I have a plastic single hose connector. It has no identification but does say made in U.S.A. The oring inside the connector is out of place. Is it possible to remove the oring and replace with a new one? Same procedure as for the OMC metal connectors for double lines? What size is the oring? Or should I just replace the conector as it is only plastic?

if the oring is just… out of place why not try to just reposition it ….push down on the plunger with a flat nail head to free up the oring and try to pop it back in place then release the plunger

If we dare assume it is an OEM OMC connector, the o-ring is part number 303598. Snag the old one with a home made wire hook and drag it out. Squeeze the new one double and slide it in & straighten it out.

Sometimes a bit of a pain but saves some money.
I would avoid Sierra…I like the way they have a warning sign near them.

When I was a kid, my dad used a ball point pen to install the new O-ring in those. It’s blunt tip won’t damage the O-ring so easily.

Having read this and other threads, I’m still confused. Want to replace the o rings in some leaky fuel line connectors. Probably also need to replace some valve o rings in the tanks. Can anybody provide a standard number for these? I don’t want to pay several dollars for an o ring that should cost several cents.

The most common o ring sizing standard is AS568, the US Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings ( I think it used to be AN). I would think OMC would have designed around standard sizes. There is a chart of standards sizes here: http://www.applerubber.com/src/pdf/as56 … -rings.pdf

Is it true that the tank valve o rings changed over time? Anybody know those sizes?

Yes, there were two sizes of the tiny o-ring around the pin on the tank outlet (behind the brass retainer washer). As I sort of remember, if the hose connector goes on vertically, it is the early, small version, but if it goes on horizontally, it is the later, larger version. But I could be all wet.

Sorry, I don’t know the sizes.
