Packard 440 is a good choice, itβs 7mm copper core. Brillman has it and you can also find it on eBay or at some motorcycle shops that work on old bikes.
Too bad no one is manufacturing those original style, crimped, “eyelet”
plug wire terminals, but I suppose one would need a crimping tool of some
kind. They’re a lot less bulky than what currently available, and probably
less prone to arcing in close quarters.
you can just get a standard round connector that fits your plug post size and solder/crimp it to the end of the wire or twist the wire in a circle and solder it
it won’t go anywhere once you secure it to the plug
I wondered the same with my Elgin. the new magneto has a threaded internal post. I hesitated pushing the wire onto the post ( which is threaded.
any help from the Elgin site would be helpful.
