Evinrude 25012 25013 both listed as 53-54, anyway to tell. My serial # is 25012 – 80249 just curious is there was a serial # break that was 1954 vs 1953. probably does not matter but my brother kinda wants it as he is also a 1954 model himself as we thought this motor was too up till this evening as I am reading and studying more. Any additional clarification would be appreciated.

I got a few I have had a long time but can always use a few more going into retirement.

25012 is a short shaft,, 25013 is a long shaft. Serial number break was 70000/70001, so yours is a 1954.

I just picked one up no hood but I got it for five dollars so no big deal but its numbers are 25012 and it is definitely a long shaft.

Besides the serial nmber, your motor has the ’54 style decals on it.

pretty decent looking for a  68 year old engine…probably pampered at it’s life.

As someone who will also add a personal
touch to motors that are fairly common
and found in less than ideal condition – I
like it. The reflection in the paint would
seem to indicate the finish is outstanding.
