I just purchased a Penn Yan run-about with a 1956 Evinrude Big Twin 35 model 25924. Are there any sources for parts and service manuals in electronic format? There are a couple of features in the engine I’m not familiar.with.
1 – A small fluid tube runs from the upper main bearing area to the lower main bearing area. What does this do?
2 – There is what looks like a solenoid valve to the left of the carb. It has a hose going to the intake manifold just above the fuel tank air and a wire up to the magneto area. Somewhere I saw a reference to a shut off valve. How does this work.
