Hi all, I noticed the ignition system on this motor looks a little different then the last few I’ve worked with.. for one the points are completely different. Where can I find these parts to get this back up and firing spark? Thanks!

You can probably get away with cleaning the points. Just make sure you don’t lose the tiny washers !

Thanks! The coil looks intact, if not functional are these readily available?

Have you checked the coil with an ohm meter? That will tell you if you need to go looking for a coil. The points likely just need a cleaning as Wedgie said. I expect that you’ll be looking for NOS or used parts if anything needs replacing but the good news is that you’re in the right place to find parts if you need them.

              Mike,
Use your ohmeter & test both windings in the coil. I take my points off the plate & wire wheel the contact point areas, then file just enough to get 100% good contact using the meter again. You really need a Mercotronic to test the cap. If it is good you will get a spark but if it has failed look for a weak spark.

mikele86, I’m going to supply a you tube video link that Doug Penn posted to help test your coil with an ohm analog meter. Doug Penn is also a guy who may have good used coil, points, and condenser for you motor if you should need.
