I’m not familiar with the 1950’s motors but have worked on the 1960’s models, 18 and 20 HP. I found a 1953 Evinrude FastTwin 15hp in nice condition and was thinking it would be a good lake fishing motor on a 14 foot aluminum vee hull. Is this motor a good candidate for that?
BillFebruary 18, 2018 at 11:37 pm #71270Is it a 15012? A 15 HP ’53 is a "Super Fastwin"….and it’s a particularly awesome engine. On a small, light aluminum boat, it will scoot you along quite nicely.
Enjoy!!

One hasnquite worn original paint and the other someone repainted and used some later decals on, but it looks decent. They will push me in my 14 foot Sean Nymph 14R at around 20-21mph and will idle down to a crawl. Great running motors and lots of power for the weight. I really enjoy mine.
