I have looked all over the net and can’t find the weight. Can anyone help?
I believe it is a whopping 68#
my handy-dandy says 75lbs for the ’55. Seems about right, same as my FD-10..
75 lbs feels right. I have one on my stand right now.
Mr,Asa, My 1953 Evinrude SuperFastwin 15 is 67 pounds, short shaft manual start. Great fishing motors!!
I actually have a ’56. I wonder what the differences between the two years are that give an 8 lb increase? Heftier castings, maybe?
Haven’t weighed mine, but two different manuals can’t be that far off, can they?
see page 9 in the JOHNSON red book 1956 FDs should be the same for rudes
FD 15 hp 75 lbs
FDE 88.5 lbs

1955-56 was a complete redesign over the pre-55 models. Rubber mounts, lower cowlings, air silencer etc. They did well to keep it at only 8 lbs.
Yes, I agree with Frank. Just the iso mounts is that much more weight.
It looks like 75 pounds is the right answer. I try to limit the weight of my motors to 66 pounds. Thats all I want to pick up.
Thanks
