Well, I picked up that old motor. It already had new ignition, plugs. It appeared to have new carb gasket. It has spark and compression but would not start but it did fire. Changed the carb over to an already rebuilt one and it ran immediately and spit water right away. Somebody did paint it fire engine red and white. That will change. My only missing parts are the faceplate for an electric 18hp. Cant find one on ebay so I’m asking for help locating one. And I have a question. What is the round diaphragm cylinder with wires connected to the right bank of the carb. Electric choke? Any help greatly appreciated in advance.

The motor is missing the entire faceplate that sits behind the front hood cover. I’m also apparently missing what I believe are the start/stop switches and the rubber covers for them

That is not where the switches go….. they are on a separate plate attached to the dash….Here is the correct soleniod cover for my 1956 FDE10, and your FDE11.

Your plate holding the push to start and push to choke can be seen here:

I believe he is asking for the faceplate #20 and maybe all the seals, springs and doo-dads that go with it.

Agreed, but he thought that is where the start and choke buttons were….

Yes. I am speaking of #20 I have the choke pull and the slow and fast knobs. I have been to marine engine pictures many times and misunderstood # 22 forward. R those buttons part of the voltage regulator. I’m confused

#22 is a screw that holds #23 and #26 together, those 2 combined are the lower pan
