Hello all.  I rebuilt my WA25 two or three years ago and it ran powerfully then.  Now I’ve got no spark so I want to remove the distributor for cleaning.  I know there’s a trick to it but I don’t remember now.

Anyone with ideas, please lend some advice.  The flywheel is off and the dissy is loose everywhere.  Do I need to release the bearing capture below the belt pully?

      Thanks

If you remove the 4  1/4 inch  bolts and the advance parts it drops down

You might have to tap down on the mag .

I agree Mike. If it was me I would replace the drive belt while there & remove the distributer drive & soak it to free up the bearings & regrease it. If you ever tried replacing thos two drive bearingss they are almost impossable to get them in & out. Just a word of caution.

I finally got it out.  I had to use a chisel and hammer to tap (rotate) a 1/4 X 20 bolt that secures a linkage support loose below the distributor cap.  Terrible.  On reassembly, I will use pan heads to make future removal easer.

The mud dabbers got into the mag and left some presents.

                Thanks for your help.

We are back on the water with “Ol’ Timer”, our 1953 Lone Star Runabout.  Thanks for the help.

I would be interested in locating a flywheel and starter to fit a Mark 30E.

                  Best Regards

Very nice set up! Don’t see many Wizzies any more. Be sure to grease the distributer drive bearings, they seem to always be forgotten. I had a Mark 30 & tried to replace those drive bearings, ended up tearing up the housing to get the bearings out. Had to get another drive unit & was advised to soak the unit in solvent & regrease before installing. Leddon hard learned. Before retirement I worked on surgery tables. One time one was rusted & had to use a hammer too to get it apart.

                    Enjoy your ride!!!

                        Floater,

I worked as an independant contractor taking work from the  factory tecs. charged a percentage less & had plenty of work.
