      got 45lbs, what should it be? also dark oil coming out of water tube while running weak, looks like gotta dig into motor, feedback, ballpark diagnoses?

        My 1956 West Bend 2 hp had 52 psi compression.
        After I de-carboned the rings and lightly honed
        the cylinder, it went back up to 60 psi where it
        ran pretty fair.

            Easy way to check low compression is bad idle. Buc has it correct. Many old motors were ran on car type oil as a premix before good 2 stroke came out & are very caroned up. Smaller bores are affected more it seems.
