      I give up! These motors have been posted on CL all summer. It looks like he might have lowered the price enough to get me interested. Would you please shed some light on what these are?

        Looks like the Johnson is missing the transom bracket.

          Thinking the Mercury is a KE4 7.5hp, not sure if 5 or 7.5hp motor, great fishing motor. Does it turn over? The coils are running down it’s leg too.

            That is a 1950ish Mercury KE7 10+hp.. Looks complete. The cowls, on ebay, are almost worth what he is asking for pair of motors. The 7.5 KE4 or Mark 7 would have the exhaust manifold coming out of bottom of cowl. A KG4 has the rockets embossed in tank trim ring. The other thing is stubby KE7 exhaust snout an cavitation plate and KE7 style gas cap. If it were a KG4, that would be a bargain, not likely.

            The other motor looks like a common Johnson 9.8hp KD-15. Note, transom clam assembly is missing.

              yeah, looks identical to my KE7. Cannot go wrong there really, so go get em!

                Merc alone is worth that, particularly with the lower cowling.
