Does anyone know where I can find seals for the lower unit on a 1973 Chrysler
6hp. The motor looks and runs great put a new impeller in it so pumps water good but
lower unit seems to be leaking around the drive shaft.
Thanks,
DougDoug

April 20, 2017 at 9:08 pm #56435Did you have any luck with this yet? If not, I may be able to get a part number out of some ancient microfiche. MercNet’s Chrysler archive only goes back to 1976; but if it’s the same number part, there are a few of them on eBay.
Long live American manufacturing!

April 20, 2017 at 11:09 pm #56445Or this? Model numbers are important. Especially with Chrysler Sea Kings, because there were so darn many of them. This is a 1973 model VWB27400
April 21, 2017 at 12:54 am #56450Sorry it’s been a long week. I have to admit I have never tried to buy one I just have been getting them from my stock and now I am out of them.
The Chrysler part number is 318307 and I can’t find the Sierra of Force number for the seal.
I will keep digging.April 21, 2017 at 4:06 am #56459Thanks for the part number will see what I can find, let me know if you find a part number that will cross with that.
This thing looks and runs way to good to let it keep leaking. Came from a friend had been his dad’s, in storage since about 78. Carb was spotless. Impeller had taken a bad set, new one pumping great. Rebuilt the fuel pump and replaced the lines and condenser.
