      Hi Folk’s,

Is there a good breathing closed exhaust system like I have seen made for the 20H that would fit KG4 or KG7?

      Thanks again,

      Mike
P.S. Any books related to just the ‘K’ engines? I have the Harry Brinkman one which is very good for 4 cyl’s.

I use KG7, Mark 20 and 25 powerheads on K towers and all fit. Should be no problem.

          JW Sir,
Thank you so much for the information I can ad it to my wish list. Mark heads that opens a lot of doors.

Mike, also use Merc 200 on a KE7 tower which is slightly shorter than the others, for more driveshaft engagement. Guess a 250 would be good also but, alas, I don’t have one. 🙁

One thing you have to do when using non-K powerheads is to cover or cinch the swivel pin so that it doesn’t rise and disengage from the lower socket. That causes immediate erratic behavior relative to the steering. Don’t ask how I know that! 😮

Howler towers were a dealer add on. Not many around now. What kind of a ride are you putting it on? They didn’t get that name being quiet. Take off exhaust covers & bolt on the new cast alum to mate to the tower, Then comes the expensive "Q" racing gearcase, $700, to have new gears, bearings, seals & shafts. If the gearcase is still rebuildable. Look for the "Foot Doctor" He has been at it for many years.

Thanks again Jeff Foot Doctor ha perfect. Trying to keep a closed exhaust so I don’t get stopped for open exhaust. You know at dust with a nice flame out the pipes the non boat people might not really like it Ha
