I realize that we have many folks outside the club needing help and I’m proud of the support those folks get on our site! But my question is: How many of you AOMCI members seek help from the club’s Special Interest Chairs? We currently have 42 people in the club serving as Special Interest Chairs. Almost all of them are equipped with documents and hand-on knowledge. I see a lot of posts that could easily be answered by a call to one of our Special Interest Chairs. They volunteered!—Let’s utilize them!

February 24, 2016 at 12:38 am #32418Buccaneer,
I think the list you are refering to is the one that was started some time ago on the green boards but was not a complete list.
I am sure in time a complete list will be added here on the blue boards as the board progresses & grows.
A full list of Special Interest Groups can be found in our membership directory, & in every issue of the Outboarder within about the first five pages or so.Respectfully
February 24, 2016 at 12:40 am #32419I think it’s great that the web site can take a load off of the special interest leaders. Here at the site anyone that happens to be on and has the time to answer can do so. Can’t get any better than that.
Separate mini forums, members only, for the special interest leaders would be neat.
February 24, 2016 at 2:50 am #32432Of course the special Interest Groups are all listed in every Antique Outboarder magazine that all members get. But it so happens that this topic is appearing here on a public forum. And of course the public doesn’t get the magazine. hm.m.m.
February 25, 2016 at 3:05 am #32488Frank, I did qualify my statement saying, "I realize that we have many folks outside the club needing help and I’m proud of the support those folks get on our site! But my question is: How many of you AOMCI members seek help from the club’s Special Interest Chairs?".
For those outside the club, seeing a message that we do have Special Interest Leaders might encourage them to join and take advantage of all we have to offer. We have so much we can offer and I want to remind folks to use all the resources. You are one of those resources, and I thank you for all the support you provide people!

February 25, 2016 at 4:24 am #32491I like when questions are asked here in plain view of all and likewise addressed in the same manner. If a fellow asks a question of a SIG leader via email, then he and he alone sees the answer. Most of my knowledge gained from this club came from reading others’ questions and the many responses they’ve garnered.
The SIG leaders can be a valuable resource indeed! I would encourage the SIG leaders to scour the boards and respond to questions on the board that pertain to their area of expertise.

I try to catch the questions in my area of knowledge – Evinrude/Elto outboards mid ’30s to mid ’60s. . . . 😀
