Bad crankcase seal?

      This is the top seal on my cousins FD-12.

      Time for a new one? It bubbles when I put some 2 cycle oil and turn it over.

            Thanks for the replies Don and Chris. I really had no doubt it was bad.

            I now have to check my “new” FD-12 and see if I need to order 1 seal or 2.

              The black grease is probably due to over-zealous greasing of the mag plate mounting. But bubbling—yep, seal time.

                When I bought my 58 J 18 the guy said it missed, Pulled the flywhl to find ocean spray from the mag. Please check runout 2,
