I am sure that this topic has been dealt with before, but I cannot find any records.
What sort, brand, size, and number of volts are folks using for their Ruddertwins?
Regards;
JimJanuary 8, 2019 at 5:21 pm #162255I use a small 6V AGM battery about 7AH.

January 10, 2019 at 6:49 pm #162714I like to use the 7.2V NiMh hobby batteries. Easily rechargeable, lightweight and inexpensive. A 5000 mah will last quite awhile. I carry two charged batteries in the battery box with a Traxxas plug on each, and a mating plug wired through the walls of the box to the external posts for the coil wires. The extra voltage doesn’t seem to hurt the points either and makes for a nice, hot spark.

A couple of good chargers for above batteries.

January 10, 2019 at 9:57 pm #162737Back in the day we used a 6 or 7.5 volt Hot Shot dry cell battery. it was used in a lot of alarm systems. Steve woods has made a “D” cell container from PVC pipe that takes four or five alkaline batteries. Replacement batteries are available every where. Of coarse the lithium is more expensive, but if you run a lot it will save you in the long run being rechargable. . .
