      What is an inversion table?

It is essentially an elevated board with a place to lock in your ankles. It has a hinge near the center and allows you to hang at varying degrees of upside-down. It is a way of stretching / tractioning your spine to relieve pressure on nerves.

I believe the big motors are good for parts sales, All the things that go wrong, starter, distributer that sort of turnover. 💡

Bad back here too. It dawned on me….. outboard motors are the sole cause of back problems. 🙂 We should conduct a poll, I am guessing the percentage is high.

I like big motors – I go up to 40 HP. I have 4 1950s aluminum runabout boats I run them on. I’m 70, and I take care of the lifting problem this way:
and….yes….I’d trade small for big motors!

Gee…..I guess I’m glad I’m not the only one falling apart……I see I have company……I may have to look into one of those inversion tables. My back is as screwed up as a soup sandwich. Four lower back surgeries has extended my "plumbers crack" about 4 inches up my back.. :^)

I too have back problems. I see the back Doc in a couple weeks to see how bad.
I compressed a disc last November. It gave me troubles with my right leg.
Went to therapy all winter, got the use of my leg back but it’s not as strong as the left.
At my last visit with my regular doctor she looked at the report from the mri and says
"Good Lord!, You don’t have any back pain". Then sets me up with another doctor. 😥
Gettin old ain’t for sissies! 😆

What have you got to trade and where are you. I have a guy looking but he wants to trade a non running 57 5hp even up for the 35….. told him he will have to sweeten the pot and haven’t heard back from him

I’m a bit north of Minneapolis. I’ve got a lot of small motors from the 1940s and early 1950s – most of which I’ve not had time to get running yet that I would trade for larger ones. My total motor count here is somewhere around 70 and rising. Right now, I’m good on 35 HP motors. I have nine 35 HP OMCs (at least two are parts motors so far). I’d like more 40 HPs I only have one – a Lark III. Also would like to have a couple 18 HP OMCs. I have some 15s but no 18s.

If you have zero interest in bigger engines why get involved with them. If you like smaller engines that’s what you should concentrate on. Unless it’s a highly desired large model it’s not going to command a lot of money so fight the urge to buy yourself extra work. I myself like the 25 to 40 horse models because that’s what my boat size requires. I have all the specific models that are of interest to me so now I pass on anymore that come up.You have to fight that urge to buy mediocre motors that you probably are not going to ever do anything with. My two cents. Bill,
