has anyone been able to get the low speed carb circuit to work on a Zepher or late Lightfour? I always end up
with my low speed needle completely closed.August 9, 2021 at 3:40 pm #244539My Zephyrs run and the carbs adjust OK but my Lightfour tends to flood badly on the high speed circuit.
This diagram mentions seats for the needles but doesn’t show them. I suspect the Lightfours high speed seat has fallen out and now I can’t adjust the fuel flow on it. I sure wish I could find the exploded diagram in my files of the carbs which does show the seats. You might have the same issue.
Click on the link for the Zephyr carb manual.

August 12, 2021 at 4:58 pm #244778I think the seat is part of carb body, I had that problem someone over tightened the main needle and damaged the seat had to replace carb
August 16, 2021 at 2:41 pm #244991On the Lightfour the seats come out but apparantly with great difficulty, mine are OK.
August 24, 2021 at 8:21 pm #245423just to close the loop. I got the carb adjusted. I was trying to do two things at once – adjust and make the motor run slow. It can be adjusted at intermediate speeds and then slowly worked down to the slowest. It now runs on the slow speed needle with the throttle completely closed and picks up fine when the throttle is opened.
