I acquired a Champion S1G and it has spark and 85 lbs compression . I squirted a little fuel into the cylinder and it popped off so It’s worth putting some time into it. The only thing it seems to be missing is there is a square or hexagon shaft running from the carb shaft up to the timer base to actuate the carb. Saw some bad pics on Ebay of the shaft but was hoping someone has some better close up pics or even a spare parts carb for the motor. Or is there anyone that specializes in Champions.

This carb is from a S1F Champion, probably the same thing?

Looks close Buc but there are some differences. Now I find out there is no float/needle and seat. All the bolts and nuts were loose so someone has been in it. It’s a Tillotson AJ2A carb.

You should be able to fabricate that long hex nut and lever, but it sounds
like you could use a parts carb!

There’s tons of outboards that used Tillotson AJ carbs, so
maybe they used a lot of the same “innards”?

Hi Dan, I have this part which is off of an AJ1A carb from a 1941 Champion S4G. I have 2 of the motors one being a parts motor. If this part looks like what you need please send me an email at wdm@trcable.tv. I would send a PM but don’t know how. If you want it, it’s yours for the asking.

Sorry Dan, I can’t seem to send a picture of this part because it says the file is too big. I don’t know what that means but I can hopefully send a picture via email.
