OMC does not exist any more.  I work on a wide variety of small motors.  When I look for parts sometime these company’s are repacking China parts and selling them for double the price.   Also some of these company s are owned by the Chinese.  New old stock is just that old!  Watch out for diaphragms or hoses that are marked NOS.  I got burned on that more than once.  The carburetors for chain saws and leaf blowers purchased from china do amazingly well.    If you purchase an outboard carb kit the needle seat may need to be chased with a tap but they seam to work good.  I have several China impellers  running around here and they are working.  I guess ya just gotta take a chance!

I do my best to avoid amazon and chinese stuff, but it is near impossible these days.

That’s my situation as well….I was just saying that it is not a bad idea to buy from someplace like sierra marine for impellers.

I don’t know where Sierra get their stuff made but today  seems everything is being  gradually deprived of quality and durability yet the only problem I recall with the chineese stuff is that some impellers  came with loose  brass cores  separating from the rubber part. Can’t say early failures of the blades  being mentionned .

Globalization has its dangers and the endless search for cost reducing cheap labor resulted in  $50 microwaves to 300$  60 inch flat TVs  and we dream of  20,000$  cars because my grandkids sure can’t  afford a US (or Canada)  made $65.000 one parked in front  of a $800K house.
