I have seen this question asked before some years ago. So now that these impellers have been around for more than 10 years what has the experience been?
Thanks.

February 2, 2026 at 11:58 am #304223I wouldn’t take a chance on a part that is so important like an impeller, unless there is no other choice for replacement.

February 3, 2026 at 7:38 am #304255I would think that eventually Chinese parts are all we will be able to buy. Unfortunate. Having said that I have installed quite a few and so far so good.

February 3, 2026 at 5:32 pm #304272Ken,
Have you used the Chinese impellers on larger motors, say 18-25-30-35 HP?

Detroit automakers had a well deserved reputation for quality lapses bef0r the Japanese raised the bar. Now the Chinese are the best in the world at low cost high quality manufacturing. They are proud of the label MADE IN CHINA I can remember the TV coverage od Nixon going to see Mao. A lot has changed since then,

February 5, 2026 at 10:34 am #304335The Chinese are certainly CAPABLE of producing high quality products if/when they are contracted to do so. Whatever level of quality and consistency their customer contracts for is what they will deliver.

February 5, 2026 at 9:09 pm #304354Chinese products are not all that bad, but I tend to avoid them if at all possible for the following reasons:
1: Everything comes from China and I like to buy stuff to support the American economy if possible (and Canadian for that matter as well) simply because it will have a good effect on the overall well being of our countries if done properly.
2: While the PR of C is not nearly as oppressive as it has been in the past, the fact that people living there for the vast majority are extremely underpaid by our standards is really deplorable to me. Especially given that past atrocities such as the one child rule that they had back in the day, I would rather not support their government if at all possible. Being forced to kill your own child would be unimaginably hard, regardless of economic circumstances at the time. In recent years, while under mentioned, there have been what can best be described as concentration camps for Muslims(I’m Christian for reference and heard from a Muslim friend) in China (and I kid you not-look it up). The bad things going on in China are not often mentioned by the mainstream media because many of us tend to buy stuff from China(and I’ll admit I am not perfect at always buying north American products), and to cover bad media on a country we unfortunately economically support in some ways would probably not be all that popular.
Hopefully my opinion is not too political as I very much don’t intend it as such, but I just want to point out that we should not support the economy of a country with a dictator. Regardless of the political spectrum, I hope that we can all agree that having some form of democracy is the only reasonable way to run a country. I know it can be difficult to resist buying cheaper products, but when you think about where those products came from and the undoubted lower living conditions of the person who made them, it can often be worth it to buy from somewhere else. Japanese products are not much off and they have a much better moral standing in my opinion. Sierra is made in IL from what I have found, and the two bucks more it costs to buy from there is a good way to give back to your neighbors in IL(figuratively speaking unless you live there). Especially for certain parts such as impellers and spark plugs, a small thought such as that will eventually lead to a weakening of China’s economy and eventual restoration of democracy in China once the dictatorship’s financial model starts to wane in significance.
I’m NOT saying in any way we need to take any drastic measures against china as war is, as the great novelist John Steinbeck said, “a symptom of man’s failure as a thinking animal”, but all I’m getting at is that we should do more to buy from companies closer to home.
