I am going to be adding a fuel pump to a RD-17 25 hp Johnson.
I was planning on purchasing this one off of eBay.
Do you think I can take off the cover so the barbs are pointed in a different direction?..
P.S. I do not want to use a OMC pump. https://www.ebay.com/itm/173584627076

not to many opinions ! guess you need to just try it and….feedback your findings and pictures . have you looked at the rectangular mikuni model as an option ?
I was going to use that above pump on a 25 hp 1955 Johnson
I am concerned that the rectangular Mikuni pump will not pump enough (14 liters per hour)(3.698408733 gallons per hour)
While the Mikuni DF52-133-D pumps 31 liters per hour(8.1893336231 gallons per hour)
Thats got be enough
I really don’t know how gallons per hour a 1955 25 hp RD-17 Johnson uses.
1 liter = 0.2641720524 gallon (US)
my carb 50hp Merc would burn 5 gal/h WOT so a 25 likely would burn 2.5 g/H at WOT so the rectangular Mikuni should do considering you won’t likely be pulling skiers at WOT all day long
