I got 2 emails this morning asking about prices on my MK powerhead parts, even though the price is right there, plain as day. Is there REALLY that much money is selling email addresses?

Apparently so or why else would there be scam and delete options? Never
open email from unknown parties. The money involved is yours. Very often the plan is to make
        yours theirs.

Could be an oversight. I have items for sale right now on our local buy and sell complete with a Google map showing my location and people still ask me what area of town I’m in.

I’m with you Louis! If I don’t know the party the mail is deleted NOW! Had a 300 dollar mistake to get them removed from my processer.
It was Mexico looking for credit card numbers. YES I DELETE the unknown!! 😈

Just like CL, if you allow email replies you’ll get a ton of "is the item still for sale", just trolling for your email address. I guess they need a reply, because those today, they have my email address already from my AOMCI ad. It’s "possible" they didn’t see the price, but my email address is usually right under the price.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

I see on the "who is online" bing[bot] and yahoo[bot], are they the lowlife culprits? Annoying!

The Google, Yahoo and other bots are robots (also known as spiders or crawlers) which scan web sites to gather information for their search engine indexes. If they weren’t gathering information, you wouldn’t get any results when you do a Google search. If you use ‘Images’ in your searches, you might see your own picture which you had posted in the public forums here. This is because the bots had picked it up.

Bots are harmless and also beneficial to everyone. If you are concerned about them picking up your email or phone number, spelling some of the numbers/letters and using spaces in your post will throw them off. If you don’t, your email address will become a clickable ‘hyperlink’ which they can easily recognize.

That is why I personally would prefer to NOT use my email address or phone number in my classified ads, but the rules say I must, so I do. I would much rather have member PM me, so I can see who they are, and then give them my contact info.
