According to an Evinrude Piston Ring chart, the model 938 and 939
has the same dimension rings as another project I’m working on,
with a 2″ bore and 3/32″ width rings. The part number listed is 101805.
Of course I can’t find such a model Evinrude listed anywhere,
nor any “hits” on that part number.
Guessing those rings are more obscure than the 56 Scott Atwater
      I’m working on.
Any clues on what model Evinrude or any updated part numbers?
      Thanks.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Tubs, I’ve look at this a couple of days ago, but didn’t see the listing under “Model Engine” rings.
Not sure what the difference is between those and the “stock” rings in the same bore size.
I’ll probably end up ordering from him, I was just weighing my options as I soak the pistons.
I got one ring about 90 percent free now, so only three rings to go! The Scott pistons
which I need the rings for, have a little vertical pin to position the rings in place.
If I can get an old ring off, I’ll have a better idea on how much of a step need be cut
in the inside of the new rings, so I can order them.

I bought rings from this outfit years ago for a Gray hit and miss engine and was happy with them.
          Thanks.
