Chasing a motor for a year and a half and FINALLY getting the guy to sell.

I have been drooling over this motor since the day I first saw it. Starts and runs, came with the controls and harness. I finally wore him down. Honestly, I think he sold it to me so I would leave him alone. Persistence is annoying to some people I guess.December 12, 2015 at 11:29 pm #28507Now you have to make the rest of the motor look as good as that emblem!
December 12, 2015 at 11:34 pm #28508Nice motor!

December 13, 2015 at 3:05 am #28522Mark 58 – great motor! I had a dandy but a thief broke into my storage shed and out of 35 Mercs, that’s the one he took! Dirty rotten yellow egg-sucking dog! I hate a thief, don’t you?

December 13, 2015 at 3:33 am #28525I feel your pain JW. When I was a kid some puke stole my boat one night while it was tied up at my friends house on the river. They must have had a great time joy riding in it. We found it swamped by a small island a few miles down river, beat to hell, motor under the water. Makes me sick to this day. Still would like to get my hands on them. 35 years ago…

If you were closer you would have one of mine!
Wanna Be,
Is your motor a 40 or 45 cu in Mk 55? Electric start means an alternator I hope for your motor. J.W. sold me a very nice Mk 30 powerhead with E start & alternator so mine is now easy start lazy older guy start. I’m happy for you! Great choice & timely bugging him. 😀December 13, 2015 at 5:32 pm #285421. I had my little 49 Hiawatha 1.5 HP for 19 years and was stolen in 1990. Because of that motor , never recovered, I found one partial on e-bay in MI and found AOMC and reliving my past. Enjoy ..now have a flotilla of nine of those breeding suckers.
2. I had a deal on a used Grumman Sport Boat w/a gun trade ..he went back on his word..moved 1500 miles found one on a route home under tossed lumber beside a garage…took me three years to buy it from the guy, my age, because it belonged to his deceased dad. Had to buy 2 motors and got a Grumman sail kit intact/complete.Those motors left, got old Gamefishers , they left for older Hiawathas !!
3. Never give up..we can’t save them all. -
