Has any one converted a Dist. Cap For Merc. to someother ??

Has any one ever found a Distributor cap for a 4 Cyl Merc 1969 model 800 80 H.P. 393-3726A that fits a car ,tractor or whatever ?? Merc wants ridiculous price for new one Its not worth that much talk, about gouging !!!!

I think that was their own deal. I doubt anything else will match. They were pretty indestructible. What happened to yours?

I’m sure you can find a good used one on eBay or a whole parts motor that is cheaper than Merc list price!

you can change to the lightining energizer but you need the drive and all other parts.

I just sold mine a few months ago. look on ebay. they came off merc 500’s they are bullet proof.

Lighting Energizer? I may have a few of those that came in a box of parts
Not sure what Merc they are from, but are 4 cyl.
A self contained CD type mag, ie; does not use a battery ?

Do you have all or most of the essential pieces? I put one back together with epoxy that worked well.

Actually I found one but doesn’t have center coil insert . Anyone Know how to get it out of old cap the metal insert??
