      humm….1950 style     yes looks different …see around page 405 in the RED bible….  what a contraption 🙁

        The 1950 QD and my 1950 Evinrude 14 hp have the same set-up.
        Different to work on for sure.
        Had to pull the rear cover, then pull the shift rod pin just under the
        power head, then unscrew the shift rod from the big yoke below.

        Prepare to be boarded!
