If I remember correctly, these motors use a knocker to remove the flywheel as there are no holes on top for a puller. On some motors, the nut which holds the rope sheave on was stepped and acted as a puller. I don’t like using that system as I’m always worried something is going to break.

Here’s a photo of a simple flywheel knocker (thanks FR) composed of a short bolt and two nuts with the same thread as on top of the crankshaft. The nuts are jammed together on the bolt and then the knocker is screwed down onto the crank until it bottoms out. Then, while lifting up hard on the flywheel, the knocker is given a sharp rap with a hammer. This works everytime and doesn’t damage anything as long as an upward force is applied to the flywheel while striking the knocker.

Can you post a photo of your flywheel?

I believe this is the flywheel you have. If I’m correct
the tool Mumbles has posted is the best way to remove
it. Here is my video on how to use that tool.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
