      Hi All
Back in the 1970s I obtained a small coil and a few other items from the local Evinrude who was throwing out a lot of old unused parts
As I was just getting interested in restoring old outboards I thought it would be worth while to grab one…….might find a use for it one day!
Unfortunately the part number is unreadable. As you can see from the photo it’s small………about two and a half inches long with a copper wire connection at each end and two lugs (one on either side ) which makes me think it could be for and early opposed twin.

Thanks once again for your help.

Sorry I can’t help to ID it Monte but it definitely looks Evinrudish by the way it mounts.

Is it wrapped in modern electrical tape?
