The fuel screen for my Johnson A-45 is a little beat up:
I’m having trouble finding a source for it, but I could probably make one if I could find the appropriate sized brass mesh. Any sources for this?
Thanks,
Steve.
I made one out of a old coffee filter ( gold color screen type) . You can also find the 100 mesh screen on Ebay in small quantities.
Here is a source http://www.enginads.com/pedersen/ I have bought a nice plug wire from him but not this screen. It’s listed under gas tanks.
A lot of members here make their own.
Get a piece of wire mesh and cut a piece to fit. Then wrap it around a small cylindrical object to form the roundness. Once your screen is formed to fit to your petcock, solder the seams.
I get the plastic in line fuel filters made for lawn mowers and cut them open to get the screen out.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
Steve,
I have some 100mesh brass screen you can have if you give me your mailing address. Send me a PM.
