      here is a similar the impeller job … no big deal.. just get a gasket for the base and I think the carbon seal can be an issue better replace it if suspect.

          would agree with crosbyman while its apart go ahead and replace the seal not expensive and right there when the power head is off.

            Yes, you do have to remove the powerhead. Here’s a link to a video I made a few years ago:

              If you try to change the impeller without removing the powerhead, chances are you’ll end up with a bent driveshaft, a bucket full of parts or another donor motor. 🙁
