Hello Outboard motor world! I was gifted this outboard with no history on it, family member had passed a few years ago and cleaning out an estate. I dabble more in old snowmobiles / lawn tractors that outboards so my extensive Google searching led me here. Happy to learn more about this thing that appears to be 100 years old???? I live in Central Wisconsin. Stamped A10701 on top, no other numbers.
Its actually 101. Many just be dried up fuel and carbon from the junk stuff from the past or could be rust from poor storage that has it stuck. Not a rare year. They sold a lot of them and some are still around. If it just from old fuel mix get, it freed up, clean the ignition, ( coils are usually still good in these) gear case (if it doesn’t wave any water in it that could indicate it was put up properly) and the fuel system ( if the tank is clean and fuel wasn’t left in it that’s another good sign) then it shouldn’t be much trouble to get ti running again. Club has one of there biggest meets at Tomahawk in August. You should come up and check us out.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
