Good morning all, looking for a two blade for the kg7. What is the rotation of the prop left or right will a two blade prop make me go faster? Still looking for QS gear box and parts. Any information is helpful. Thanks

I have a KG7 and a bunch of props for it. I think the props are left hand rotation because the water pump cover is removed with a right hand rotation. I learned this many years ago when I replaced the water pump impeller and made the special Mercury tool to remove and replace the water pump cover. I ran the motor many times on my Model R Alumacraft but I can’t remember which prop was fastest. Of course that will depend on the size, weight, and hull design of your boat.

Yeah I should have figured that out myself, for that  exact reason. What prop do you think would be best? I built a Crandall Midget Flyer 10’

Best prop. boat, motor combination depends on purpose….serious race competitors keep a full rack of alternatives in hopes one might be
better than the others on a given day, A fits all prop would keep motoer within power band and not lug or overspeed… most users would be ok with that. Mercury warranty was void if motor was used with an unapproved prop… one made by Mercury and listed as
for that motor. Warranty was not
all that great… 90 days and
factory had final say it motor or
user was at fault. Mercur sold
speed and performance. Extensive testing at Lake X on various boat
brands resulted in the Boat House
Bulletins listing Mercury motor and Mercury propeller combinations suitable for various
brand and models of boats, A Mercury dealer could sell the complete package with confidence
he was dong right by the customer.

Remember: Righty tighty, Lefty lucy Except for the KG WATERPUMP cover, left handed threads so it doesn’t unscrew while running.
What app is the mptor used on?

Tub’s thanks, now use the chart to find a prop. Your stuff always looks great, an inspiration.

A bit off topic, but how long did it take you to build the midget flyer?  I was looking into building one.

I have 2 . One was NOS when I got it. They are both mint. I would sell one, but I won’t be back home till around the middle of August if you would be interested.
